Lvivs kommunfullmäktige höll igår ett arbetsmöte med företrädare för de lokala myndigheterna och den svenska ambassaden i Ukraina. De diskuterade samarbetet mellan Sverige och staden. I synnerhet diskuterades möjligheten till samarbete inom miljöteknik och hållbar utveckling, så som att skapa ekologi- och energicenter i stan samt Forum för miljöteknik.
Vid en pressträff efter diskussionerna betonade ambassadens förste sekreterare och ställföreträdare, Henrik Norberg, det svenska stödet till Ukraina:
“En av de viktigaste sakerna för Ukraina just nu är att bli mindre beroende av utländsk energi. I detta avseende har Sverige ganska bra erfarenheter, ganska bra kunnande, och vi delar gärna med oss av den kunskapen.”
Hendrik Norberg informerade även om det kommande Svensk ukrainska Business Forum om energieffektivitet och miljöteknik som kommer att hållas i Lviv 5-6 november.
Idag inleds bokmässan i Lviv. Under mässan arrangeras flera möten mellan svenska och ukrainska författare. Arrangemanget är ett samarbete mellan Svenska institutet, tidskriften 10-tal, bokmässan i Lviv samt Fili (Finnish literature exchange). Ni kan läsa om alla evenemang på Facebook.
Ivan Franko universitet i Lviv kommer att gästas av Lina Ekdahl, Linn Hansén, Ulrika Kärnborg och Gunnar Ardelius.

All cities have their shapes. Some are slim other are rich. Some are dull. Other are laughable. Most of them also have many shapes. Some have almost all inclusive.
Lviv’s shapes speaks a special language of many masters. Some masters where elegant. Some just tried to confuse. Making us lost in reality. Like the Soviet Era. They even planted great trees, just to confuse and defuse.
I find the Soviet firs especially intrigues. I always feel how impuissance capture me when I see them. They crush all my thoughts in just standing there. Fearlessly, looking at me. Stretching out their arms to grab me. Into emptiness.
Ikväll smet jag från alfa jazz och gick istället till Lvivs filarmoniska orkester. Under ledning av vår chefsdirigent, svenske Ilya Stupel, fick vi en fantastisk konsert. Lvivpubliken fick även bekanta sig med den svenske kompositören Kurt Atterberg. Hans lätta skandinaviska klanger bröt av vackert mot det ryska sällskapet, som var Prokofjev, Sjostakovitj och Musorgskij.
Igår inleddes Alfa Jazz Lviv. Det är fjärde året som Lviv ordnar denna härliga festival. Det bästa med festivalen är att det är en riktig folkfest och vänlig mot både den tjocka och tunna plånboken. Man har ordnat en picknick-zon med gratis inträde och med storbilds-TV. Öl, vin och mat finns också till en billig peng.
Gårdagens höjdpunkt var Dee Dee Bridgwater. En konsert med mycket hjärta. Hon avslutade konserten med Amazing Grace, och en bön för fred i Ukraina. En medmänsklighet och ett empatiuttryck som publiken verkligen behövde. Det var knäpptyst när hon sjöng, och vi var många som fick tårar i ögonen.
Huvudsponsorn Borjomi hade helt klart den flashigaste reklam jag någonsin sett. Men så är det också ett gott mineralvatten.
