PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SVT HAS DECIDED TO POSTPONE THE SCREENING OF THE FRENCH DOCUMENTARY “UKRAINE: THE MASKS OF REVOLUTION” UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The Swedish national public service TV broadcaster announced its decision to postpone the screening of the film yesterday, by updating the original program announcement:

The decision comes after criticism from journalists and scholars, and following the open letter from ten Scandinavian organisations sent to SVT, April 19th 2016:

The ten organisations are pleased with the decision – screening a film that to a large degree makes use of conspiracy theories and distorted facts is not worthy an important opinion maker in Sweden and Scandinavia.
However, the ten organisations would like to point out the following:
• After SVT originally announced they would broadcast the film, the ten organisations never demanded that the film should not be screened.
• In the open letter from the ten organisations, SVT was asked to organize a follow-up discussion in order to put the film in perspective and open up for critical voices.
• In the announcement from SVT yesterday about postponing the screening of the film, SVT “Dokumentär Utifrån” said they still plan to screen the film, but will announce the screening time at a later notice.
For this reason, the ten co-signing organisations would like to emphasize their original claim:
• Don’t screen the film without a proper discussion. If SVT is to screen the film, we are looking forward to a follow-up discussion organized by SVT, in order to put the film in perspective and open up for critical voices.
