i have problem with getting a work permit to ukraine right now, so well, i am not sure what to think, apart from “borders suck”)))

Reminds me of “Café Europa” by Slavenka Drakulić and when she describes how hard and difficult it was to cross European borders with a Yugoslav, and even later with a Croatian, passport. As a Swedish, I have not had any problems traveling in Europe so when I read it was a bit of an eye opener, maybe not that I thought everyone had just as easy to cross the former Iron Curtain, I just hadn’t put any thought into it.

Then she wrote that now then she’s married to a Swedish man he just has to flash his Swedish passport to customs officer and say “She’s my wife”, if she gets in any problem at the custom.
